Woman Sought in Stolen Vehicle Incidents

A woman suspected to be involved in an auto theft that took place Thursday in Hilo is being sought after by the Hawai’i Police Department.

HPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the woman through a photo taken on Tuesday. The photo shows the woman operating a pickup truck that was stolen on July 30.

According to police, the photo was taken not long after another vehicle theft that took place in the Bayfront area of Hilo.

Anyone with information regarding the July 30 incident should call Officer Jared Cabatu. Information in regards to the most recent incident that took place on Aug. 4 should be directed to Officer Chester Franco.

Both Officers can be reached by calling 961-2213 or by calling the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Those who recognize the woman in the photo should call any of the above phone numbers.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous can call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
