Over 2,700 paddlers from across the state descended upon Hilo Bay Saturday for the Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association State Championship.

Crews dealt with overcast conditions, rain, and gusty winds throughout the day. In the end, Hawaiian Canoe Club, Puna Canoe Club, Waikiki Beach Boys, and Na Kai Ewalu won their respective divisions.
