UPDATE: Two Extended Furlough Inmates Fail to Check In

One of the two furlough inmates that failed to check back in to a Kona extended furlough house on Thursday has been arrested.
Dyson Kepano was located at approximately 1 p.m. Friday in Kona. He has been transported to the Hawai’i Community Correctional Center.
Donald Soares remains missing. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.

Two extended furlough inmates failed to report to a Kona extended furlough house for their scheduled check-in Thursday, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The men have been identified as Dyson Kepano and Donald Soares.
Kepano is 23-year-old and is classified as community custody, the lowest level of custody. He is reportedly 5’5” and weighs 130 pounds. Kepano has brown hair and brown eyes.
Once he is located, Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges. In August, he was expected to face his next parole hearing.
Soares, 28, is also classified as community custody. He is 5’9” and weighs 135 pounds. Authorities say he has brown hair and brown eyes. He is serving time for burglary and theft. Once located, Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charged. His next hearing was scheduled for November.
The Department of Public Safety has notified the Hawai’i Police Department.
Anyone who sees either Kepano or Soares should call 911.
