Kawamoto Swim Stadium Slated to Reopen

The Charles “Sparky” Kawamoto Swim Stadium in Hilo is scheduled to reopen after a closure was announced on July 9 due to an unexpected mechanical malfunction.

Department of Parks and Recreation officials say the pool will open its doors during regular scheduled hours beginning Friday morning.

During the closure of the Kawamoto Swim Stadium, officials opened the Hilo NAS Swimming Pool.
