Shriners Hospital Visits Big Island Towns for Clinics

Shriners Hospital for Children will hold its next clinic in Honoka’a and Kona Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Pediatric orthopaedic specialists will be at each of the clinics to provide care for children with bone, joint, or muscle conditions, like scoliosis, sports injuries, and other orthopaedic issues.

Shriners provides care for children up to the age of 18 and accepts children, regardless of their family’s ability to pay for the care.

The Honoka’a clinic held on Thursday will be at the Hamakua Health Center, and the Kona clinic scheduled for Friday will take place at the Kona Baptist Church, located on Puuloa Road.

During the clinics, Dr. Jonathan Pellett will be the visiting orthopaedic surgeon. He has earned a variety of recent honors, including being named as one of the Best Doctors for 2015-2016 by Pacific Business News and 2014 Physician of the Year by the Healthcare Association of Hawai’i.
