Weekend Road Work to Cause Closure

The following temporary weekend road closure has been announced by the State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation for Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hawai’i Belt Road, also known as Highway 19, will be under an alternating single lane closure in both directions between Jardine Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway. The roadway work will be conducted in the vicinity of Kaawalii Gulch.

As a reminder, alternating lane closures on Umauma Bridge in the Hakalau area, near mile marker 16, are in effect on a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week schedule. Travel speed has also been limited to 20 miles per hour.

The lane closures are weather permitting and have the possibility of changing without notice.
