Beginning Monday, July 6, work will begin on Kaiwiki Road’s Mā‘ili Stream Bridge. The work will consist of replacing old timber components and adding preservative-treated wood.

The work will be conducted Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays, and will cause the road to be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Officials from the county’s Department of Public Works expect that the work will be completed in a two month period, as weather permits.

To review the daily work and bridge closure status, visit the county’s traffic and road work website.

Those interested in learning more above the project should contact Barett Otani, Information and Education Specialist, at 961-8787 or Alan Keone Thompson, acting Highway Maintenance Chief, at 961-8349.
