The Department of Water Supply has announced a temporary water shut-off along Apoke Street, from 138 Apoke St. to the end of the cul-de-sac, in Kaumana on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. DWS officials say the shut-off is necessary to change a leaking service lateral.

On Tuesday, DWS crew members worked to prepare the area for the water work, causing a road closure, except for local traffic.

After the work is completed, crews will flush and clean the waterlines. During this time, customers may experience turbid or discolored water. Trapped air may also be noticed in plumbing but will dissipate as water is used.

Customers in the affected area are advised to take necessary precautions to protect their property and facilities. This includes disabling electrical power to pumps and other devices whose normal operation depends on water or water pressure.
