The following temporary road closures have been announced by the State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation for Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19 between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
On Route 19, also known as Hawai’i Belt Road, alternating single lane closures will occur in both directions between Kulaimano Road and Kauniho Road, in the vicinity of Pepeekeo to Hakalau. The closure will occur as roadway improvements take place.
Highway 19 will also be under an alternating single lane closure in both directions between Jardine Road and Puualaea Homestead Road. The work will be conducted in the vicinity of Laupahoehoe Gulch as roadway improvements are made.
Continuous activity on Umauma Bridge in Hakalau will cause alternating lane closures near mile marker 16 on Highway 19 to remain on a seven-day-a-week, twenty-four-hour schedule as bridge rehabilitation work is underway. Speed on the bridge is reduced to 20 miles per hour.

In addition, work along Highway 19 in the vicinity of Kaawalii Gulch between Jardine Road and Old Mamalahoa will be under a single lane closure in both directions. Roadway improvements will cause the closure.
All lane closures are weather permitting and have the possibility of changing without notice.
