The following temporary road closures have been announced by the State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation for Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12 between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

On Route 19, also known as Hawai’i Belt Road, alternating single lane closures will occur in both directions between Kulaimano Road and Kauniho Road, in the vicinity of Pepeekeo to Hakalau. The closure will occur as roadway improvements take place.

Near the Laupahoehoe Gulch, along Highway 19, a single lane alternating closure will take place. Roadway improvements will cause the closure between Jardine Road and Puualaea Homestead Road.

In the area of the Kaawalii Gulch on Highway 19, alternating lane closures are scheduled. The roadway improvements will take place between Jardine Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway.

Continuous activity on Umauma Bridge in Hakalau will cause alternating lane closures on Highway 19, near mile marker 16, to remain on a seven-day-a-week, twenty-four-hour schedule as bridge rehabilitation work is underway. Speed on the bridge is reduced to 20 miles per hour.

All lane closures are weather permitting and have the possibility of changing without notice.
