The United States flag and the Hawai’i state flag will both fly at half-staff from sunrise through 12 p.m. on Memorial Day.
Governor David Ige ordered the action to honor the memory of those who have died while serving the country.
“We pause on this Memorial Day to remember and honor those who answered the call to serve our country and paid the ultimate price to preserve and protect our freedom. I encourage everyone in Hawai’i to take some time this holiday weekend to show your appreciation and gratitude to those who have fought and who continue to fight for our freedom,” Governor Ige said.
