The Hawai‘i Police Department is seeking information about the theft of a fuel tanker stolen in Honomū last month.

The tanker is described as a custom-made, 500-gallon diesel fuel tanker on a double-axle trailer with a red Honda fuel pump.  It was rusted silver with a pump and nozzle near the back and had diamond-shaped placards with “1993” showing on the front and side.  The tanker was located on Old Māmalahoa Highway near the Honomū transfer station.

Anyone with information about the missing tanker is asked to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.  Tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
