The following temporary road closures have been announced by the State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation for Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15 between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Along Highway 19 in the Honokaa area, between Kapuna Road and Antone Deluz Road, alternating single lane closures will take place in both directions. Roadway pavement reconstruction is the cause of the closures.
From Pepeekeo to Hakalau, a single lane closure will occur in both directions as roadway improvements are made. The closures will take place between mile markers 10 and 15.6 along Route 19, Hawai’i Belt Road.
Continuous activity on Umauma Bridge in Hakalau will cause alternating lane closures on Route 19, near mile marker 16, to remain on a seven-day-a-week, twenty-four-hour schedule as bridge rehabilitation work is underway. Speed on the bridge is reduced to 20 miles per hour.
