Hale Nani Inmate Reported Missing

Department of Public Safety officials say a 22-year-old Hale Nani inmate was reported missing Friday night.

Lyndal Gilliland went unaccounted for during the facility’s 10 p.m. headcount. He was then reported as missing by staff, who immediately conducted a search and notified the Hawai’i Police Department.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Gilliland was serving time for Prohibited Acts Related to Drug Paraphernalia and Promoting a Dangerous Drug.

His sentence end date for his charges was December 2015. Officials expect that Escape 2 will be added to his charges once he is found.

Gilliland is described as 5’9” tall and he reportedly weighs 130 pounds. He also has brown hair and hazel eyes.

The Department of Public Safety advises the public to call 911 should they see Gilliland.
