A 4,910 foot portion of the Old Mamalahoa Highway in Ahualoa will receive new pavement following resurfacing construction that began Wednesday morning.

The Department of Public Works, Highway Maintenance Division said that the work, which began at the one mile marker near the Lakeland Subdivision and proceeds towards Honoka’a, will last through May 13.

Construction will be conducted on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During the scheduled resurfacing work, the area will be in an alternating lane traffic pattern.

Motorists who expect to be driving in the area should plan for delays.
