The Hawai‘i State Senate has unanimously confirmed Suzanne Case as Chairperson of the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR).

Case worked with The Nature Conservancy for 28 years, serving as Executive Director since 2001.  She has worked directly and in partnerships on native forest and coastal and marine conservation.  Case also managed the Palmyra Atoll Nature Preserve and Research Station in the Pacific Ocean.

She responded to her confirmation, “I deeply appreciate the Senate’s vote of confidence to serve as the Chair of DLNR and I’m very excited to start as quickly as possible. It’s a very important job for Hawai’i and I will give it my all.”

Sen. Laura Thielen (D 25th District), Chair of the Senate Water and Land Committee said Case is well-suited for the position, owing to her experience with The Nature Conservancy.
