Second Special Meeting Scheduled by UH Regents

The University of Hawai’i Board of Regents will hold another special meeting to address “University of Hawai’i at Hilo: The Management of Mauna Kea and the Mauna Kea Science Reserve” at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 26 at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo Performing Arts Center.

On Thursday, April 16, the board held an initial meeting at UH-Hilo. Crowds gathered by the hundreds to present testimony and stand in opposition to the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope.

A public comment period will be open to the public.

Those who wish to submit a written statement on items pertaining to the agenda can submit their testimony up to 24 hours prior to the meeting, either by hand delivery or mail to University of Hawai’i – Board of Regents, Bachman 209, 2444 Dole Street, Honolulu, HI 968288. Written statements can also be e-mailed to [email protected].

Testimony that is late will be given to the Board within 24 hours of receiving it.

Anyone who wishes to testify in-person may do so. Interested participants should sign in before the meeting and limit their testimony to three minutes.
