Students interested in pursuing higher education in journalism or a related field are invited to apply for the Big Island Press Club’s annual scholarship.

Each year, the BIPC offers five different scholarships to Big Island students interested in journalism. The scholarships include the $1,500 Robert C. In 2014, five Big Island students were awarded a total of $4,600 by the club at its annual scholarship dinner.

Interested applicants must meet the following qualifications to be eligible to apply: have residential ties to the Big Island, express a clear interest in and aptitude for a career in journalism or a related field, be pursuing a degree in journalism or a related field, be enrolled full time at an accredited college or university, and maintain a strong record of academic achievement.

The BIPC Scholarship Committee will determine the awardees.
