The State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation has announced the following temporary road closures for Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Alternating single lane closures along Mamalahoa Highway, also known as Route 11, will occur in both directions between mile markers 39.5 and 45.6. The area affected will be under pavement reconstruction in the vicinity of Volcano to Kapapala Ranch.
In the area of Pepeekeo to Hakalau, a single lane closure will occur in both directions as roadway improvements are made. The closures will take place between mile markers 10 and 15.6 along Hawai’i Belt Road, also known as Route 19.
According to the DOT, all lane closures are weather permitting and have the possibility of changing.
