Police Arrest Four in Hilo Murder Investigation

Four individuals have been arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing that occurred in Hilo on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The Hawai’i Police Department says that the suspects were arrested at their Honomu home on Thursday on suspicion of second-degree murder. Aaron Figueroa, 21, was arrested at 5:32 p.m. Lily Costa, 22, was arrested at 6:01 p.m. Garrett Dahlin, 22, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. Brittne Morgan, 28, was arrested at 7:30 p.m.

Upon being arrested, all four individuals were taken to the Hilo cellblock, where they remain while detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continue the investigation.

Brian Whetton, 43, was identified by HPD Thursday as the victim. He had no permanent address. Whetton was found Tuesday in the parking lot of Longs Drugs in Downtown Hilo with stab wounds on Tuesday. He died at Hilo Medical Center later that day.
