The Hawai’i Police Department located a Hilo woman who was wanted on warrants and for a car theft that was reported in Hilo on Nov. 30.

Danielle Kaneao, 29, was arrested Monday morning in Kailua-Kona. She was charged with violating probation, as well as two counts of contempt of court.

Kaneao was taken to the Kona cellblock, where she awaited further investigation into additional charges by detectives.

On Tuesday at 3:20 p.m., Kaneao was charged by Area II Criminal Investigations Section detectives with unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, theft, and attempted theft in connection to the Nov. 30 incident.

Kaneao was also charged with forgery and theft in connection with a forged check that was cashed in Pahoa on July 1. Her bail was set at $42,100.

Officers also arrested Kaneao on suspicion of meth trafficking and drug paraphernalia after they found a crystalline substance and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle she was in at the time of her arrest. Those offenses are still under investigation.

Kaneao remains at the Kona cellblock pending her initial court appearance, scheduled for Wednesday.
