The Hawai’i County Department of Water Supply has announced that customers along Pahoa Village Road between Apa’a Street and Post Office Road may experience intermittent water shut-off Tuesday afternoon.

The water shut-off would come as a result of valve installation work in the area.

When the water service resumes, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned. During this time, customers may notice turbid and discolored water.

Trapped air in plumbing may also be noticed, but will be released as water is used.

Customers who will be affected by this temporary water shut-off are asked to take necessary precautions to protect property and facilities, including disabling electrical power to pumps and other devices whose normal operation depend on water pressure or water supply and which might be harmed if automatically energized during the water shut-off.
