The Hawai’i Police Department charged a 30-year-old man on Tuesday with first-degree burglary in connection to an August break-in.

Police recovered surveillance video after a 56-year-old Kea’au woman reported than an unknown person entered her home and stole jewelry.

The man was identified in the surveillance footage as Kawai Pomroy of Mountain View.

Pomroy was arrested on Monday, Oct. 6 by officers from the Area I Burglary Task Force at Hawai’i Community Correctional Center, where he was being held for an unrelated incident. His bail was set at $25,000.
