Legislature, Palamanui Campus Topics of Kona Forum

An update on the recently concluded legislative session will be among the items discussed Tuesday at a community forum in Kona.

The forum will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. at the pavilion at the Old Kona Airport. Pupus and beverages will be served.

Sen. Malama Solomon and Reps. Nicole Lowen and Richard Creagan are scheduled to provide updates on legislative matters.

Kenneth “Marty” Fletcher, who was recently named director of the University of Hawai‘i Center, West Hawaii, will provide an update of current educational opportunities and potential future programs at the Palamanui Campus.

Event organizer Community Enterprises will also make a special presentation to Christianne Abella, the Konawaena Middle School student who recently won the Hawaii State Spelling Bee.

Community Enterprises is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide educational resources to residents of West Hawaii.
