Another new playground was dedicated Monday as the county continues its efforts to renovate keiki recreation areas.

Monday’s ceremony was held at the Waiakea Uka Park located on Ainaola Drive in mauka Hilo.

The $225,000 project involved a modular playground that includes multiple slides, climbing rings, covered decks and a grass-like safety surface.

The playground renovation, one of six undertaken by Mayor Billy Kenoi’s administration since 2008, began Feb. 20.
