The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for all islands this weekend.
A high-pressure system is expected to generate strong northeasterly winds Saturday afternoon through Sunday night.
Winds of 35 to 45 mph are anticipated, with possible localized gusts of more than 65 mph.
Forecasters said the winds will be strongest as they accelerate down leeward slopes, including the area of South Kohala on the Big Island.
