State Hiring Correction Officers on Three Islands

The state Department of Public Safety has begun recruitment for adult correction officer vacancies on the Big Island, Maui and Kauai.
Requirements for the positions are listed here. Applications can be filed online via a link on the site.
The recruitment will end at midnight on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
Among other qualifications, applicants must have at least one year of responsible work experience which shows the ability to relate effectively with people, a DPS spokeswoman said.
The starting pay is $43,244 a year.
Selected applicants will move on to Basic Corrections Training.
