The Kohala Center will be holding its High School Agricultural Internship Program during the week of Oct. 7-11.

The program will be based at the center’s Ka Hua `Aina farm in Honoka`a.

Friday is the deadline for submitting applications.

The program is designed to give interns hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture and information about island food systems. They will visit and work on farms and earn a stipend for the farm work.

Participants will also take field trips to processors and wholesalers and meet agricultural leaders, the center said in a press release.

Applications are available at kohalacenter.org/farmertraining/interns.html. For additional information, contact Derrick Kiyabu at 808-220-2312 or [email protected]

The program is sponsored by The Kohala Center and Kamehameha Schools’ ‘Aina Ulu Program.
