The National Weather Service has introduced an improved phone system to provide the latest weather information for the Big Island.
The weather service said callers to the system at (808) 935-8555 will receive information updated 24 hours a day.
It said the automated system provides a single-access point to a summary of watches, warnings and advisories as well as district and coastal water forecasts.
It also provides current station observations and hourly coastal wind reports as well as tide, sunrise and sunset information, the weather service said.
Information on tropical cyclones in the Central Pacific will also be available during the hurricane season.
