No Tsunami From Earthquake Off Oahu

Hawaii residents had a momentary distraction today from the nearly non-stop news of Tropical Storm Flossie with the announcement that an earthquake had struck off the windward coast of Oahu.

The tremor that occurred at 10:31 a.m. had a magnitude of 3.5.

No tsunami was generated.

The depth of the temblor was not immediately available.
