Police Say Puna House Fire a Case of Arson

Police say a fire that destroyed a home in Orchidland Estates last week was deliberately set.

The department has opened an arson investigation in the fire that destroyed a home on 38th Avenue on Thursday.

Police said the determination was made with the assistance of a dog from the Hawaii Fire Department’s Arson Canine Team.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Det. Wendall Carter at 961-2378 or wcarter@co.hawaii.hi.us.
