Residents, businesses and property owners near the Waimea Transfer Station are being notified that blasting activities will be underway in the area on Thursday afternoon.
The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands said the blasting will take place between 2 and 5:30 p.m.
The rock excavation is needed as part of the construction of Phase 2A of the department’s Lalamilo subdivision.
Warning signals will be sounded five minutes and one minute before each blast.
