WANTED: Man Sought for Sexual Assault of Minor on Bus

Hawaiʻi Island police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a man wanted for harassment and sexual assault of a minor while on a public bus.

Authorities say that on Jan. 28 at around 3:25 p.m., an unidentified man touched a female minor while engaging in an indecent act on a Hele-On bus in Waimea.

The bus was near the Lakeland bus stop at the time of the incident. The man is described as African-American, tall and thin with short dark hair.

The suspect was reportedly wearing a RVCA hat and white Beats headphones with a red cord at the time.

Police believe the man may be in the Hilo area.

HPD asks that anyone with information on his identity or location call the police department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
