A search for a 67-year-old Pahala man who fell off a cliff near South Point while fishing was halted Thursday following an effort lasting more than four days.
The search for Roland Gacayan Sr. began Sunday night after he fell 20 feet off a cliff into waters known for strong currents. It involved use of the county’s Chopper 1, rescue boats and ground crews, assisted initially by aircraft from the Coast Guard and Hawaii National Guard.
