An informational booth will be set up Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Reed’s Bay Beach Park as part of the Hawaii Police Department’s ongoing effort to remind the public of laws pertaining to county beach parks.

Joining the department’s Community Policing Section will be Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Coalition for a Tobacco Free Hawaii and The Salvation Army Family Intervention Services.

Alcohol use is prohibited along the Banyan Drive peninsula and at county beach parks there and elsewhere. The use of tobacco is also banned at beach parks.

A similar community outreach project was held Sept. 18 at Richardson’s Beach Park where information was provided on alternative programs for youth and laws about alcohol and tobacco use.
