Flags at Half-Staff Friday to Honor Armstrong

Gov. Neil Abercrombie today ordered that national and Hawai`i flags at state offices and agencies will be flown at half-staff Friday in honor of the memory of astronaut Neil Armstrong.

The order, in keeping with a directive from President Obama, will be in effect from sunrise to sunset.

Friday is the day of interment for Armstrong, the first person to set foot on the moon.

Armstrong died Saturday at the age of 82.
