Police Announce Holiday Hilo Road Closures

Big Island police are informing the public of road closures in Hilo on July 4th to accommodate holiday festivities.

Bayfront Highway will be closed from Waianuenue Avenue to Pauahi Street from 6-10 p.m. on July 4th. The alternate route will be Kamehameha Avenue.

Lihiwai Place, the roadway fronting Liliuokalani Park on the Banyan Peninsula, will be closed from 6 a.m. on July 4th to 10 a.m. the following day.

Bishop and Kumu streets, which extend from Kamehameha Avenue to the King Kamehameha statue and into the Bayfront soccer fields, respectively, will be closed from 3 p.m. on July 3rd until 10 p.m. on July 4th.
