Hawaii Electric Light Company announced in a release Tuesday that a power outage will take place on Friday night, May 11, from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The outage will affect customers from Kukaiau to Kalopa.
HELCO said that the scheduled power shutoff was necessary to safely perform maintenance work within their Paauilo Substation. They ask customers to unplug sensitive equipment prior to the power outage, and also ask those that depend on electric powered medical equipment to make necessary arrangements.
