fire hydrant pixabayA fire hydrant flow test along Kona Bay Drive in Kailua-Kona is scheduled to take place on Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Customers along Kona Bay Drive, including those in the Kona Bay Estates Subdivision, Kuakini Highway between Palani Road and Old Kona Airport Recreation Area, Makala Boulevard, Kaiwi Street, Loloku Street, Pawai Place, ‘Alapa Street, and Luhia Street in North Kona, may be affected by the test.

Slightly discolored and turbid water may be noticed by the listed areas for several hours following the hour-long test period.

The Department of Water Supply suggests customers in the potentially affected area refrain from washing clothes and store drinking water for use until water returns to normal.
