‘Hawai’i Sex Offender Search’ App Wins Awards
The national Web Marketing Association recently awarded the Hawai’i Criminal Justice Data Center, under the Department of the Attorney General, with the 2015 titles of Best Government Mobile Application and Best Information Services Mobile Application for its “Hawai’i Sex Offender Search” mobile app.
Each year, the Web Marketing Association gives out awards to the top contenders in its Mobile Web Awards competition.
HCJDC and the Hawai’i Information Consortium, LLC partnered in April 2015 to create and release a major upgrade to its mobile sex offender search app.
Now, users can sign up for alerts regarding offenders based on zip code or street name and city.
Information from the alerts include indications that an offender has relocated to the area or an existing offender in the area has updated their registration information.
The Web Marketing Association’s 4th annual Mobile Web Awards Competition was judged for state-of-the-art mobile web development, design, and marketing based on a predefined set of criteria.
Best of Industry, Outstanding Web Award, and Best of Show were the three levels awards were granted on.
Individuals who do not have a mobile device can review the directory of Hawai’i’s registered sex offenders and other covered offenders online.
