Umauma Bridge Closed, Delays Expected

Umauma Bridge on Highway 19 remains closed Friday.
State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation Highways Division reports the closure is at the Umauma Bridge, between mile markers 16 and 17.
The closure was announced Thursday evening around 7:30 p.m.. Officials say the roadway is closed until further notice.
A detour is in place through the Old Mamalahoa Highway and motorists who drive in the area should use caution and expect delays. It’s estimated that delays are up to 30 minutes.
