The Department of Water Supply has announced a temporary water shut-off in Honoka’a along Pikake Street from Hagiwara Tank to Mauna Loa Street, including Ka’ao Road.

Water will be shut-off in the area on Tuesday, March 31 between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. as a water main connection for the Smith-Souza water line improvements are made.

DWS officials warn that upon the resumption of water service, the lines will be flushed and cleaned. During this time, customers may experience turbid or discolored water. Additionally, trapped air in plumbing may be experienced.

Customers in areas that may be affected are advised to take necessary precautions to protect their property, including disconnecting any devices who depend on water or water pressure for normal operation.
