The Department of Water Supply has announced a temporary water shut-off along Kalanianaole Avenue, between Silva Street and Kauhana Street in South Hilo, for Wednesday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. through Thursday, March 5 at 2 a.m.
DWS officials say the water shut-off is to conduct repairs to a leaking waterline.
When water service resumes, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaning. During the process, customers may experience turbid or discolored water, in addition to trapped air in plumbing.
Customers are advised to take precautions to protect their property, including disabling devices that may be impacted by loss of water pressure or that may be harmed by being automatically energized during the shut-off.
