Police Seek Identity of Puna Property Damage Suspect

The Hawai’i Police Department is seeking the identity of a man who was involved in an incident in Puna involving property damage.

Police are investigating an incident that occurred on Jan. 20 at a store in Puna. At around 11:15 a.m., an irate customer reportedly damaged a piece of equipment by knocking the item to the floor.

The unidentified man then drove away in a silver 2002 Dodge Caliber 4-door sedan.

Officials describe the man as Caucasian, 5-foot-5, 150 pounds, and in his late 30’s. He has also been described as having brown eyes and short, dark-brown hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black cap, multicolored shirt, and white shorts with black rubber slippers.

Anyone who has information about the identity of the man or his whereabouts is asked to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Officer Kimo Veincent at 965-2716.

Individuals who wish to remain anonymous can call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
