July 4 Holiday Road Closures in Hilo Announced

Big Island police is reminding the public of road closures that will be in place for Fourth of July festivities.

Bayfront Highway will be closed between Waianuenue Avenue and Pauahi Street from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. The alternate route is Kamehameha Avenue.

Lihiwai Place on the Banyan Peninsula will be closed from 2 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. on Friday, July 5.

Kumu Street, which leads to the King Kamehameha statue, and Bishop Street, which leads to the Bayfront soccer field restrooms, will be closed from 3 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, to 10 p.m. on Thursday.
