With his last name, he clearly is Hawaiian-Korean. I don’t understand why police reports always have to reduce someone to one ethnicity, when they have several. All the locals say they are just “Hawaiian.” Completely nonsensical when Hawaiian, in reality is but a small part of us mixed folks’ ethnic makeup. Mixed Hawaiians can look vastly different, depending on what other things they are mixed with. So why just tell the public they are “Hawaiian,” when that is in fact a partial truth, and therefore of no help in finding the person? How are we gonna be on the look out for someone whose background consists solely of Hawaiian? We wouldn’t recognize that because no one (despite their claims to the contrary) is pura sangre anymore. Wouldn’t it make more sense to write, “Park is Hawaiian-Korean.”? Because that’s what he looks like to me.
