Second Hale Nani escapee back in custody

Kawai Pomroy was arrested without incident at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday by park rangers in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. Meanwhile, Clyde Takeshi Talosaga Loa Jr. remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous. Joseph Fernandez was apprehended Dec. 18, 2024.

Puna man charged in ʻĀinaloa incident during which he apparently choked family or household member with minor present

Curtis Mamone Jr. faces two charges of felony abuse; one charge of third-degree promoting a dangerous drug, specifically methamphetamine; and one charge of second-degree escape after the Jan. 6 domestic incident.

Hale Nani escapee captured, 2 others still on the lam

Inmates 31-year-old Clyde Takeshi Talosaga Loa Jr. and 41-year-old Kawai James Pomroy remain at large. The three escaped Dec. 13 in a car owned by one of the facility’s employees.

Hale Nani Escapee Charged

A Hale Nani inmate who reportedly escaped on Feb. 16 was located Thursday afternoon and has now been charged.
