Public events for University of Hawai‘i president finalist start today, online survey live

Julian Vasquez Heilig will attend open houses and public forums on Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i Island and elsewhere this week.

Reminder: First UH president finalist public open house, forum today at UH-Hilo

Wendy Hensel will take questions from the public during a campus forum from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the UH-Hilo Performing Arts Center. Community members can attend in person or via Zoom. Finalist Julian Vasquez Heilig will do the same next Tuesday.

Hawaiʻi County Council overrides Roth’s veto of bill intended to increase rezoning transparency

Following an override of Mayor Mitch Roth’s veto, Bill 194 is now a Hawai‘i County ordinance that brings requests for time extensions for zoning changes to come back to the County Council.
