Learn more about the 4 finalists for chancellor at Hawai‘i Community College

Four finalists have been named for the Hawaiʻi Community College chancellor position.

Those in the running are:

  • Jenn Capps, provost and vice president of academic affairs, California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt, Calif.
  • Micheal Glisson, dean of instruction, health and human services, Lone Star College-North Harris, Texas
  • Chad Cabral, chief executive officer, Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island
  • Susan Kazama, interim chancellor, Hawai‘i CC

The candidates will participate in a final round of interviews that include a public forum for each candidate Hawaiʻi CC–Pālamanui and Hawaiʻi CC’s Manono campus next week.

“UH faculty, staff, students and the public are invited to the open forums to learn more about the final candidates,” said University of Hawaiʻi Vice President for Community Colleges Erika Lacro. “We want a chancellor who will reflect the needs our campus faces today and in the future.”

The first forum will take place at Hawaiʻi CC–Pālamanui in Panini 126-127 on April 24. The forum is scheduled below:

8:30–9:15 a.m: Jenn Capps
9:30–10:15 a.m.: Micheal Glisson
10:30–11:15 a.m.: Chad Cabral
11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.: Susan Kazama

A second forum will take place on April 25, at Hawaiʻi CC’s Manono campus in Kaneikeao 379-5. The forum is scheduled below:

9–10 a.m.: Jenn Capps
10:30–11:30 a.m.: Chad Cabral
1–2 p.m.: Susan Kazama
2:30–3:30 p.m.: Micheal Glisson

Following the visits and review of the feedback from the chancellor search advisory committee and others, Lacro plans to submit a recommendation for appointment to UH President David Lassner.
