UPDATE 2: High surf warning downgraded to advisory for West Hawaiʻi

The new advisory is in place through 6 p.m. today (Feb. 5); a high surf advisory previously in place for northern shores of the Big Island was also canceled and northwest swell is on the downward trend.

Young Brothers updates cargo availability as unfavorable ocean conditions continue

Because of the delayed arrival in Hilo, regularly scheduled Hilo to Honolulu sailing will now depart today and is estimated to arrive Wednesday in Honolulu. There are no changes to cargo acceptance or gate hours at the Port of Hilo.

County to Close Beaches Amid High Winds

The warning means dangerous and severe sustained winds of at least 35 mph with gusts over 60 mph are expected.

Small Craft Advisory Remains in Effect

Winds: East to northeast 20 to 25 knots with higher gusts.
